Kyle Patrick Spencer has arrived!

The newest member of the Spencer family is here! Finally!

And I'm finally getting around to writing about it! I've been a tad busy. :)

My doctor had scheduled me to be induced at UVRMC on September 10th . The baby just wasn't coming on his own, and since it was 5 days past my due date I'd about had it! I called the hospital that morning to see if they knew yet what time they wanted me to come in. They said they were really busy, so I really didn't have any hope that they were even going to call me back that day. I figured I had a free and boring day ahead of me, so Cameron and I went to the Legacy Center to walk around the track a million times trying to speed things along! I was pretty depressed, so then my mom and sister Kar took me to lunch at Zupa's. Delish! Anyway, the hospital called a few minutes to 3:00, and said they were ready for me. Yay! Of course, every day up 'til this day I was super prepared--had a clean house, took a shower, had my hair done, shaved my legs (mostly just 'cause that makes me feel better), but of course that didn't happen that day. I was frantically getting little last minute things done, which I was trying to avoid; oh well!

Anyway, I met up with Aaron at my fam's house and dropped Cameron off there. We got down to the hospital about 4:00, and then they gave me the pitocin around 4:45. I started having contractions after a while--not fun!--got the epidural (Aaron was a good sport through all this, since he missed the pre-epidural stuff last time), and my water broke maybe around 7:30 or so. Finally things got going around 8:30 and I called my family to bring Cameron down so they'd all be there as soon as we had the baby. I started pushing at 9:20, and out he came at 9:37! He was all squishy and sort of chubby-looking, actually, and didn't look a thing like we expected. Mostly we thought he'd at least resemble Cameron a little, but he was definitely his own little person. Very cute, nonetheless! They got him cleaned off a bit, weighed him....And I was shocked that he was 7 lbs. 12 oz. That's huge to me! He was also 19 1/2 inches long. And he had a cute little cry. We let Cameron be the first to come in and see him, and it was a very cute little moment. He was so excited!

He was also the first one to hold him. It was pretty cute, and I'm glad he's so excited to be a big brother.

We were pretty sure that we were going to name him Kyle, but we still wanted to wait and see what the little guy looked like. It still took us a little while to decide--that night I was laying awake (unfortunately, didn't sleep so great that night) and I was thinking about different names, and either I would realize how dumb certain names sounded, or when Aaron and I talked about it and I said the names out loud, they sounded even dumber. Even though they were all good names! They just didn't sound right for him. So we went with Kyle Patrick. To me, no dumbness. That's good.

So here's the sweetest little baby boy born in the last four years:

The chubbiness wore off a little bit, and he's starting to look like he might actually be our child :)

I just had a few tidbits I forgot to write about yesterday......


As you know, Cameron is always saying funny things, so here are some of the latest:

• He waits as long as possible before realizing he needs to go to the bathroom, and I tell him to not wait so long that he's dancing. One day he started doing a little jig in front of the toilet, and said, "I am definitely to the dancing point!"


• Cameron looked at our butter dish one night--

And then he said, "It looks like a two-headed piano!"

• Last night we were watching the History Channel, and it was talking about a 70's muscle car. It was saying how powerful it was, how fast it could go, etc. Then Cameron said, "Guess what? If you were driving to Idaho in that car, you'd get there like faster than you thought."

We're still here!

If there's still anyone that reads our blog, I'm sorry I haven't posted anything forEVER. Really sorry! But we are alive and well, just staying busy enough I guess.
And anyone that reads this should probably already know that we're having another boy! Yay. Cameron is excited to have a little brother (and teach him how to do everything). Only 6 more weeks! Time has really gone fast (too fast) for me, and now we're down to trying to get the "spare" bedroom turned into a baby room. Right now, there's nowhere to put a crib, so it needs some work. That's my project for this week; we'll see if any of it gets done in the midst of reading Harry Potter.
This baby sure knows how to kick--he'll probably be a punter for a football team, maybe a boxer, or possibly a really good soccer player. Wow! I don't think Cameron ever kicked this hard--or painfully--so often. But I just remind myself I'd rather feel it than not, so I'm grateful.
Anyway, lots has happened over the summer, like my brother Kevin getting married to Steffany, who is a great sister-in-law! They've been in Colorado for the summer so we've hardly seen them. They'll be back in a few weeks. Yay again!

I'm having some major issues trying to post all the pictures in here; I really don't know what I'm doing. So everything is going to be in reverse!


Over the Pioneer Day weekend we went camping at Flaming Gorge Dam with most of the Spencer siblings. Overall it was fun....A few episodes happened, including Cameron running away from me and having to chase him down, throwing up, and problems with the truck that was used to take the boat up! (And we forgot to take pictures, so this is it)

Our first family camping trip up American Fork Canyon--July 10-11

Cameron and his little buddy Kason (second cousins?? He's my cousin's son)

Cameron in his first parade, for Lehi Round-Up Days. (June 26-27) Our ward does a float every year--this year they got second place in the contest! I don't remember exactly what the theme was, but it had to do with Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater.

Cameron on his very first camping trip for Father and Sons, June 12-13. He had a good time, and slept pretty well considering it was pouring rain all night! And we know that our tent is waterproof, too. :)

Again, I can't get the pictures to go in the right order. But this one was after the Hill Air Force Base air show--Cameron loved the ear muff things and didn't want to take them off!

The pretend weed wacker was a birthday present, so here's Cameron helping Daddy do yardwork:

May 26th--Happy Birthday #4 to Cameron! He chose "spiral cake" (translated, that's Funfetti/Rainbow Chip) but then only took one or two bites. Maybe next year we'll just have ice cream!

The day before his birthday was Memorial Day, so Aaron had it off. We took Cameron up to Dinosaur Park in Ogden for part of his birthday stuff. It was a surprise--he loved it! He was so excited to see all the dinosaurs and how big they were.

Back on May 23rd, I had another piano recital with my students. All but one were able to make it, which was a miracle since it was a holiday weekend! They all did really well. Cameron played "Mister Mouse" and did a good job. Look at what good posture he has, too!

May 14-17: When we went to Colorado for Kev and Steff's open house, we also went to the aquarium and natural history museum. Cameron was really excited and still talks about what he saw there. Although after we left the museum, I asked him what his favorite thing was (there were a lot of cool things, including an I-Max show about volcanoes) and he said, "I'm really glad I got to see the little paper T-Rex!" Yes, a little T-Rex inside a case, maybe 7 or 8 inches tall. Okay......waste of money! We could've made one of those :)

And that is our life in a nutshell over the last few months! I'll try and get something else posted before the newest member of the Spencer Fam arrives and I'm overwhelmed with diapers, crying, and no sleep.....

This was our weekend. Aaron did math problems (studying for his Professional Engineer License test) while I watched a movie and did laundry. Cameron had a date night with Kar, slept over at Grandma and Grandpa's house, and had two Easter egg hunts with cousins and friends the next day. So needless to say, he was completely worn out! Here's our ride home:

Ha ha. We didn't even plan on it being play-by-play!

Anyway, we had a nice Easter and Cameron hopefully understands why we celebrate it. We watched the end part of "The Testaments" and he liked that. He of course had fun looking for his Easter basket (which he knows I hid) and trying to shovel in as much candy as he could before we took it away. He looked very handsome in his suit:

And we even took a few family pictures. Finally! I feel like we hadn't in a long time.

Well it's been a while since I posted anything, because we haven't had much to write about. Then I remembered there were a few things I could say, so here we go!

When we told Cameron a few weeks ago that he was going to be a big brother (that's right, he was holding the sign and didn't know what it said), he was so excited! That's an understatement. He was so hyper for an hour and a half that his mouth or his body didn't stop moving! Here are a few things he said that night:

Right after we told him, pretty much the first thing he said was, "But we don't have a crib!" I told him we'd set one up when it got closer to the baby coming. Then he said, " We could use MY crib that's down in the hole!" (a.k.a. the crawlspace) We said that was a great idea, and then soon after he asked when the baby was going to pop out of my tummy.

Cameron: Are you so happy I'm going to be a big brother?

Mommy: You have NO IDEA how happy I am!

Cameron: I do have a idea how happy you are!

Later, when we were video taping his hyperactivity, we asked him when the baby was coming and he said 6 and a half years. I sure hope not! He also told us he wants it to be a girl baby.

Anyway, Cameron finished Itty Bitty Ball recently, and I'll try to attempt putting a little video on here of pretty much the ONE time he did what he was supposed to!

Well, I guess we'll find out if that works.

Also Aaron took Cameron to the zoo a couple weeks ago; here's a few pictures from that trip:

Cameron also had his second-ever dentist appointment, and we had time to take a quick picture while we were there. He did a good job, and doesn't have any cavities or anything!

It sure helps that at each chair there's a TV! He got to watch "Cars" while he was waiting.

Last night for FHE we went to a place called Jump On It, which is a bunch of trampolines and bouncy things inside a warehouse type building. I watched, obviously, but Aaron and Cameron had a good time!

We'll pretend the last one is turned the right direction. I couldn't figure out how to rotate it on here. :)

Cameron's funny stuff

I just wanted to write down all the funny things Cameron has done the last couple weeks. He really keeps us entertained!

• One time after going potty--we go "pat pat" to get everything dry--Cameron told me he went "peet peet." I thought he was saying pee pee, which I don't like, so I said that we don't say that. Then he said, "No, 'peet peet' means 'pat pat.' I was saying it in Spanish!"
• After Cameron was done eating a banana, I asked him if his hands were cleaned off. He said, "They were basically clean because I used a fork!"
• The other night he asked when Daddy was coming home from work, and I said he'd be home in about 10 minutes. Cameron looked at me really excited and said, "No KIDDING?!"
• Last night he was eating some toast. He was breaking the bread apart, which reminded him of the sacrament, which then brought us to the topic of the priesthood. Then he told us, "I need to go get the priesthood. It's in the closet."
• Aaron took Cameron to the dinosaur museum, and they were going to dig up fossils and bones in some sand. Cameron wanted to take his shoes and socks off. Aaron said that was fine, but then Cameron was so distracted watching everything else he started taking his pants off!
